Dr. Houser-Thomas holds a Doctorate in Psychology, focusing on criminal behavior, a Masters Degree in Addiction Rehab and a Bachelors in Psychology & English.  Over the past 25 years, she has worked  as a therapist at all levels of treatment with addicts and dually-diagnosed individuals.
Dr. Houser-Thomas is one of the founders of Addictions Resource Center Inc, working with James Vanderwoude in 1993 to start the company.  During this time she and James worked at the Clark County Sheriff's Office where she directed the prevention program "Saturday's Child." Saturday's Child won the Governor's Award for Best Prevention Program in 1995 under her direction. She took over the company in 1997 when James left to work at Crossroads Centre in Antigua. From 1997 to the present she built ARC into one of the largest companies of its type in Ohio. She continues to direct ARC-ip, Inc, expanding its locations and services based on court as well as consumer needs.

Dr. Houser-Thomas is a devoted mom, veteran, a passionate animal lover, and an environmentalist. She has written two books: "An Era of Addiction" and "Living a Sustainable Lifestyle for Our Children's Children."  Her children now actively assist in the management of Addiction's Resource Center, Inc as well as an amazing team of individuals.
